WORK
NOR-CAL OFFICE CAMPUS/WOLFF DEVELOPMENT/ST. HORNE CONTRACTORS

Project type
New construction, high-tech office campus
Background
Nor-Cal is a high-tech medical imaging company serving hospitals and clinics throughout the U.S. Their new facility is filled with millions of Dollars worth of sensitive electronic equipment, wiring and infrastructure, so their choice of roofing system was mission-critical. Moreover, the company wanted its new campus to project their commitment to sustainability and caring for the environment.
Solution
Wolff Development and St. Horne Contractors worked with architects Stern & Stern to specify Highland’s Rain Guard® seamless roofing system. Rain Guard® is a lightweight, reflective elasticmeric coating that is both guaranteed not to leak for as much as 30 years, and it is classified as a “cool roof” system, meaning that it reflects as much as 80% of the sun’s radiant heat, which in turn reduces the building’s energy usage by as much as 50%.
Results
The Nor-Cal complex was L.E.E.D. certified and received a nomination for the prestigious AIA Green Building Award. The client is completely satisfied both with the way their new facility enhances their public identity and how efficiently it houses and protects their high-tech business.
