Project Summary
Solution
Highland installed the RainShield roofing system over approximately 33,000 square feet, completing the upper roof and its eyebrow sections first as requested. Scope items included cutting out sump drains, adding extra ply in waterways, and applying three-course reinforcement at drip edges and counterflashings. The team also replaced 50 linear feet of drip edge on the upper eyebrow roof and managed access and safety requirements associated with the elevated roof level. Work on the lower roof was staged from the second-floor parking area and required coordination around mechanical units, satellite equipment, and nearby overhanging vegetation.
Results
The new RainShield system provides a durable, long-term roofing solution for the hotel’s multi-level structure. Reinforcing the waterways, drains, and edge metals improved water management on both the upper and lower roofs, while sequencing work around hotel operations allowed the property to remain fully functional throughout the project. Highland coordinated closely with the facilities manager to ensure safe access, minimize disruptions, and complete the upper roof within the requested timeframe.
