Project Summary
Solution
Parkstone Companies engaged Highland Commercial Roofing in 2021 to perform a roof condition assessment on five buildings within its business park in Escondido as part of long-term capital planning. The existing cap sheet roofing systems were approaching twenty years of age, and Highland also identified that the existing skylights and smoke hatches would likely need replacement at the time of any reroofing project. Highland Commercial Roofing recommended the RainShield® Fluid Applied Reinforced Roofing (FARR) System, a fully reinforced membrane applied directly over the prepared existing cap sheet roofs, and ownership ultimately selected the 20-year RainShield® FARR system after Highland helped evaluate the decision on lifecycle value rather than initial cost alone.
Results
Once the project was approved in late 2025, Highland mobilized a five-person crew to execute the full scope over approximately three months across all five buildings, including replacement of aging skylights and smoke hatches and three-course reinforcement at all critical roof details and penetrations. Parkstone Companies received a fully restored and reinforced RainShield® roofing system protecting all five business park buildings, backed by a 20-year Manufacturer Labor & Material Warranty, along with immediate energy performance gains that lowered interior temperatures and reduced HVAC cooling demand across the property.
